THE Sydney Opera House and YouTube are getting together to broadcast online Sarah Blasko’s performance with the Sydney International Orchestra. Blasko will be performing at the iconic Sydney landmark on the back of success of her latest album I Awake, as part of the Music at the House 2013 series.
The singer —songwriter will take to the stage with a 40-piece orchestra and will perform songs of her most recent release, as well as songs from previous albums. I Awake was recorded with the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra, but previous songs from earlier works will be reworked and given the same grand treatment.
The concert will be the first in a series of 20 concerts that will be streamed live by YouTube from the Opera House. YouTube have set up a channel especially called Live at the Sydney Opera House, www.youtube.com/liveatthehouse. You Tube will host concerts for the next two years after they signed a deal last December with the Opera House.
“I’m more than thrilled to be doing my own shows at the Sydney Opera House, a place I’d only ever dreamed of performing,” said Sarah.
“To be able to share that experience across the world will only enhance that feeling of excitement for me.”
You can catch Sarah Blasko’s concert live in the UK from 10 am GMT Monday 18 February.
