LET THE BUYER BEWARE! Once you have bought an item from a private seller, you have no legal comeback if it turns out to be faulty. Check the goods thoroughly before handing over the money. Blue Sky Publications, publishers of this website, cannot be held responsible for the accuracy or legitimacy of any copy posted on the site.
Some tips to consider:
- Arrange to meet the buyer or seller in a public place to view the goods in question before exchanging any money. We also recommend you take a friend along with you. If the seller or buyer won’t or cannot meet face-to-face, then be very suspicious.
- For most transactions it is often easier and more convenient to pay in cash. However, in order to be on the safe side, don’t take more cash than you need for the purchase.
- If you are using a secure payment method, check that the credit amount is showing as cleared funds.
- Never send cash or cheques through the post, or place money directly into a seller’s bank account, in advance or expectation of receiving goods.
- If the seller asks you to pay a shipping company or send money abroad, don’t do it.
- If you have any doubt about a buyer or seller whatsoever, do not proceed.
- If buying concert tickets from an unofficial source, only deal in hard tickets NOT e-tickets or email-tickets (these are considered digital property and cannot be made for sale. They are also easily duplicated)
- It is illegal to sell or advertise some items in the UK, such as football (soccer) tickets. It is your responsibility to know and abide by these laws. Any post found on this site suspected of being illegal will be immediately reported by us to the relevant authorities, along with the user’s details.
