A few weeks ago the internet lost its mind (it tends to do that rather often) over the son of the late and oh so legendary (and of course very Australian) Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. Steve’s son Robert appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, showing Jimmy some of the finest wild animals as only an Irwin would do.
After the first appearance racked up over 45 million views (and Robert was hailed the spitting image of his dad), Tonight Show producers thought it would be a great idea to have Rob return to the show, this time with even more animals.
The resulting 10 minutes of footage will fill you with a mixture of pride, nostalgia and of course laughter as Jimmy Fallon gets freaked out by a scorpion and legless lizards. At one point Jimmy even holds up a side-by-side picture of Robert and his dad at the same age, seriously they are IDENTICAL.
Robert doesn’t just LOOK like his father, he basically IS his father. The way he handles the animals, to his use of certain catchphrases, Robert’s intelligence and pure love for all things wild will absolutely melt your heart.
With a launch on US late night TV as big as this, and hot on the spinning heels of big sister Bindi Irwin’s winning turn on Dancing with the Stars, you can surely expect 13-year-old Robert to get the Crocodile Hunter series going again once he is a little older. For now though, he’s not wasting any time. Check out the clip, above.
