Monkeypox used to be one of the most deadly diseases in the past but it is now not as severe as it was in the past. Thus far, only a few cases have been reported.
US and UK record Monkeypox infections
According to 7News, Monkeypox is much more prevalent in African countries. Right now, over ten cases have been recorded in the UK. One case is said to have been recorded in a man who just came from Canada.
To date, Monkeypox cannot be transmitted from human to human. Although some cases have been shared come through close contact with an infected individual.

When contracting this disease, people would generally have a more severe version of chickenpox which occurred much in the 1970s. Health authorities are currently investigating these cases and where it came from.
Right now, some form of contact tracing will be taking place as the US and the UK have not seen these cases of Monkeypox to be prevalent.
For Aussies, there is no concern at the moment. Health authorities are looking into the issue to find the cause of it. Recently, another case has been reported from an individual who came back from Nigeria.

In Nigeria, cases of Monkeypox are generally prevalent. As this disease is transferred from infected animals when humans are in contact with them.
For safety reasons, Aussies are encouraged to not touch any sick animals as they can risk getting the disease if they do so.
