Adjusting to UK weather

THE United Kingdom is a great place to visit and live but of course with every new country there are adjustments that need to be made. The UK weather is notorious for its wetness and greyness and can be a shock to those who aren’t used to it. One easy way to stay dry is with waterproof jackets from North Face. These jackets aren’t only practical but also will look great on the streets of the UK. Today’s jackets are made to be durable and when you are in the UK, durability is what counts.

For those expats who live in the UK or those looking to move, the weather is one of the biggest obstacles to overcome. Coming from Australia where there is only an average rainfall of 16in per year to the UK where the average is more than double that at 33.7in the difference can be tough to get acclimatized too.  Additionally due to the fact that the United Kingdom lies further from the Equator than Australia the average hours of sunlight in both countries are vastly different. Australia enjoys on average up to 3,200 hours of sunlight while the UK only gets 1,492 hours annually. As you can see the sun definitely sets on the empire.

Understanding the change of the weather from Australia is something everyone must do before they arrive. That being said with that horrid weather at times, the UK is a wonderful place that you have to visit at least once in your life. Be sure to prepare yourself with outdoor clothing before you arrive or immediately after to make your time more enjoyable.
