WITH the 2013 Ashes Series drawing to a close, there are only a few opportunities left for Australians in the UK to get their cricketing fix.
On the eve of the fifth and final Ashes Test match, Australian Business are hosting a lunch at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground with former Australian cricketer Merv Hughes and cricket commentator Jim Maxwell AM.
The Commonwealth Bank Leaders Lunch, on Monday 19 August from 12.30pm — 2.30pm, will be your opportunity to meet these cricketing legends.
During his international career, former Australian Cricket International and Selector Merv Hughes played in 53 Test matches, taking 212 wickets. He played 33 One Day Internationals, taking 38 wickets. He has become an Aussie sporting legend, loved by cricket fans globally.
Jim Maxwell AM is the ABC’s most experienced cricket commentator, covering over 250 Test matches, including six tours to the West Indies, seven to the subcontinent, over 50 Ashes Tests and five World Cups since joining the ABC in 1973. Jim has written several cricket books including The First Sixty Years, The Ashes From Bodyline to Waugh and Stumps, an anecdotal account of his experiences following the Australian team.
