Angelo Moriondo was born on the 6th of June in 1851 in Italy. The Moriondo name is filled with people who were business-centered and entrepreneurs.
Back in the 19th century, coffee was one of the most popular beverages. And still is today with the likes of Star Bucks and other coffee stores offering speedy coffee services every day.
Today, Angelo Moriondo is being honored on the 171st anniversary of his birthday and one thing that echoes today is his need to make coffee at a quicker pace.
Previously, people needed to wait more than five minutes to receive their cup of coffee, and let’s face it, that was pretty inconvenient. Luckily, Angelo Moriondo wouldn’t let the grass grow under his feet and thought of an invention that would be more convenient.

Not only would this increase the amounts of coffee to be made in a matter of minutes. But it would give Angelo Moriondo the upper hand and competitive advantage.
In the Google Doodle presented today, the gif created by Olivia When shows an expresso machine brewing up two cups of coffee at a time. And speedily at that.
Thus far, Angelo’s work got its flowers while he lived. In 1884, Angelo presented his invention at the General Expo of Turin. He received the bronze medal for his invention which was created by an engineer.

Now, the Moriondo family was full of entrepreneurs who were always brewing up new ideas. The grandfather of Angelo Moriondo had his own liquor business which he then passed on to his son.
But, Angelo’s father did not only have his father’s business. He also owned his own chocolate company which was called “Moriondo and Gariglio”.
So, today coffee lovers all around wouldn’t be able to fathom being able to wait for more than five minutes for a cup of coffee.
