Australian comedian Sam Simmons has walked away with the prestigious prize in comedy, the Edinburgh comedy award.
The 38-year-old comedian received the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award top award on Saturday night for his show Spaghetti for Breakfast, which won the Barry Award at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival and and the Underbelly Award at Adelaide Fringe.
Simmons bagged a loot of £10,000 ($21,445) in prize money.
Fellow Australians Sarah Kendall and Tom Ballard also walked away with honours. Foster was nominated for her show A Day in October, while Ballard was nominated for Best Newcomer for his Edinburgh debut with Taxis and Rainbows and Hatred.
