Great Scott! Do you know what day it is? If our calculations are correct, it’s 21 October 2015. That means it’s ‘Future Day’! It’s the day Dr Emmett Brown took Marty McFly to in the classic time travel film, Back to the Future II.
So, the future is here. It’s right now! But where are our self-lacing shoes, self-fitting jackets, second-accurate weather reports, 3-D holographic movie posters and (of course) our hoverboards?

The future clearly didn’t turn out as Marty and the Doc found it. What went wrong? What happened to distort the space-time continuum, creating this parallel timeline we find ourselves on?
