Jennifer Lopez opens up about living in the public eye

According to People, Jennifer explained that sharing the stage with her fellow Latina artist Shakira was the worst idea ever. To date, her manager also thought it an insult that two Latinas perform in what used to be one headliner every year.

“Typically, you have one headliner at a Super Bowl. That headliner constructs a show, and, should they choose to have other guests, that’s their choice,”

Benny Medina

In essence, Benny Medina felt that the Superbowl was trying to say that one Latina could not carry the Superbowl and that two were needed to make it great.

Among some of the other things that Jennifer Lopez delves into in her halftime documentary is that she faced extensive criticism for her body shape as she came up during a time when curvy bodies were not celebrated.

“I lived in the public eye and I believed a lot of what they said”

The halftime documentary also shows the tough interview Jennifer endured. In which a male Journalist asked her how she feels about her butt. Jennifer appeared to be in disbelief at the question as she continued to face scrutiny from the public.

However, the singer at some point chose not to listen to what the reporters or magazines were saying. But chose to listen to her own voice instead.

“I really had to figure out who I was and believe in that and not believe in anything else.”

Another important aspect of the halftime documentary shares that Jennifer Lopez hated the idea of sharing the stage with Shakira. Not because she disliked her, but because the time given would be limited

“I’m trying to give you something with substance, not just us out there shaking our f*****g asses. Something real.”
