George Lopez couldn’t complete his show on New Year’s Eve due to feeling ill. His representative has since reached out and said that the show has been rescheduled for the 18th of March in 2022.
At the time, it was unclear what caused the comedian’s ill-feeling but it has since been revealed that he is recovering from the flu. With his health in a state of flux, the comedian had to make his way off the stage.
George could be seen looking visibly ill before leaving asking for some water. At this point, George took his leave from the stage while an ambulance was called.
At this time, the comedian is said to have been performing for 30-40 minutes before he fell ill and left the show.
According to News.com, George did not leave with the ambulance. It is said that he was treated by paramedics on site. The comedic genius struggles with a genetic condition that caused his kidneys to deteriorate.
Doctors have urged him to get a transplant as soon as possible but postponed the operation until the completion of his self-produced ABC show, George Lopez. Additionally, his then-wife Ann Serrano donated one of her kidneys to him.
Since the incident at the show, George has still been active on social media and has paid tribute to the late Betty White who died on the 31st of December. She would have celebrated her 100th birthday in January.
“You know you’re loved when the entire world feels like 99 years just isn’t enough💔💔” Lopez wrote of White. “Your light is too bright to ever be dimmed. Thank you for the years of laughter and comedic genius, you will be dearly missed. 🙏🏽🤍🕊”
