Jacques and Paige seemed to get on well foe their entire relationship as they always chose each other to recouple with. However, things started to go in a different direction after the arrival of new girls and guys alike.
Thus far, Jacques has explained his reasoning for leaving Love Island and cutting his journey short. In Tuesday night’s episode, the islander could not contain his anger. As he found out that Adam had been bad-mouthing him while he was gone.
After finding this out from Gemma, Jacques decided to confront Paige about what had taken place with Adam and continued to probe her into sharing what Adam had been saying about him.
Ultimately, this proved to be Jacques breaking point. As he shared with Luca that he never felt this way about a girl before. And by this, he meant feeling hurt and upset.
“I’ve never been massively upset over a girl or a bit like hurt. So in life, I’d rather get away from things before I get hurt.”
As Jacques ended his conversation with Luca, he then went to talk to Paige about his feelings and explained that he cannot be the best version of himself while being in the villa. With this, he added that he was subsequently leaving the villa that same day.
“You mean so much to me, you know that. I’ve been trying to put a brave face on but things are getting to me,”

The islander continued to share that he wished he could continue his journey with Paige but has decided that the best thing for both of them, was for him to leave the villa and focus on himself.
As shared by Mirror, Jacques expressed that he and Paige could possibly continue their romance outside of the villa. That is, when everything ends. But, he also encouraged her to do what she needs to and get to know the other guys.
“I still want you to enjoy your time in here, just do what you need to do and listen, I’ll be waiting for you,” Jacques then said, before adding: “Just do what you have to do, don’t even think about me.”
