Jada Pinkett Smith has dedicated one episode to explaining alopecia and addressing the Oscars slap which had many tongue wagging.

So far, it is no secret that Jada Pinkett Smith has been struggling with alopecia. The actress has frequently shared her journey and even embraced her condition as she shares images and videos of her shaved head. 

But, at the Oscars night, Chris Rock made a particularly insensitive joke that evidently left Jada Pinkett Smith feeling hurt. Quite frankly, Will Smith could see this hurt and acted on his wife’s pain. 

To date, many do not believe that this was the right thing to do and has given Will Smith excessive criticism following his violent actions at the Oscars.

Right now, Will Smith is banned from the Oscars for ten years. Despite this, Will and Jada have continued to support one another regardless of the catastrophe going on. 

In the opening episode of Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett Smith took a few minutes to address the Oscars slap and gave a vague response to what took place. 

“Now, about Oscar night, my deepest hope is that these two intelligent, capable men have an opportunity to heal, talk this out and reconcile,” she said. “The state of the world today, we need them both, and we all actually need one another more than ever.

According to The Guardian, alopecia particularly affects black women and can affect their perceptions of beauty. So far, alopecia affects more than 6.8 million people in the US.

During her short testament, Jada added that she and her husband “will continue to figure out this thing called life together.”
