Kanye West and wife Kim Kardashian caused a stir in Melbourne on Wednesday when in a dramatic scene he was rushed to a local hospital for an emergency MRI.
The rapper who landed in Australia with wife Kim Kardashian earlier this week complained of severe headache that led to the couple speeding to the Epworth Hospital in Richmond with their security detail in tow.
West was sneaked into a hospital back door with his face covered and saw consulting rooms and waiting rooms cleared while he was given a once-over.
An eyewitness on the scene at the hospital Lorraine Kelly said to Woman’s Day that, “Everyone was massively panicked. Everyone was moved out of the waiting and consulting rooms” as the star was helped onto a stretcher.
Some reports suggest that doctors feared West was on the brink of having a seizure.
The Daily Mail reported that a bystander at the hospital told them that Kimye (as the pair is affectionately known in pop culture) caused a ‘dramatic scene’ as they dashed to the hospital saying, “Kim and Kanye were in one car, and a second car with their security team drove behind but slowed down to block any paparazzi or fans from following them. Their car was able to get away so that they were not followed to the hospital.”
Despite the drama, West later took to the Rod Laver Arena stage in his ‘Yeezus’ performance.
A source later told E! Online that, “[Kanye is] fine and didn’t have a major health scare or seizure.
“He just suffered a migraine and went to the hospital simply as a precaution.”
