Kylie Minogue has refuted rumours that she had ‘broken up’ with her UK music label Parlophone.
News that the pop star, and coach on the Australian reality television show The Voice, allegedly split from Parlophone surfaced on Monday.
Minogue vehemently denied it and tweeted, “Whoaahh… @parlophone!! According to ‘sources’ we r ‘breaking up’! Not true. Exciting times ahead! #LOVEu4EVA.”
To which Parlophone responded, “@kylieminogue we #LOVEu4EVA too 🙂 #teamkylie.”
The British newspaper The Sun claimed it quoted a source who said that Minogue’s newest album “Kiss Me Once’ had failed to perform well with only 60,000 copies sold in the UK and as a result decided not to re-enter into a contract with the label.
In Australia the album fared much better and debuted at No.1 on the Australian ARIA album charts.
“Kylie’s record deal locally is with Mushroom/Warner Music. We are proud to represent her and don’t plan to change that!” a spokesperson from Warner Music Australia told AAP on Monday. Mushroom/Warner Music represents Minogue in Australia.
