Leigh Sales will no longer be the host of ABC’s 7:30 show after the elections take place. This comes after 12 years of taking on the role.
Right now, the replacement for Leigh is the popular and respected Investigative Journalist Sarah Ferguson. The Journalist will host the show alongside Laura Tingle.
While Leigh Sales will no longer be an anchor for the show she hosted alongside Tingle, she will stay at the ABC headquarters. Only in a different role.
Thus far, Sarah Ferguson has expressed gratitude for taking the role over from Leigh Sales. Right now, Leigh believes that Sarah will be able to take the show to new heights.
“On a brighter note, I expect to enjoy the role hugely, interviewing is one of the true thrills of journalism. Working in collaboration with the inimitable Laura Tingle is irresistible.
Not only is Sarah Ferguson a great fit for the role, she also acknowledges the role that Leigh Sales has played in bringing the show to where it is today.
According to ABC News, Leigh Sales felt that it is time for her to step down as she thinks it is time for someone else to bring something new to the table.
“7.30 is an incredibly important program and I welcome handing the reins to a journalist of Sarah’s rigor and experience. I look forward to finishing up and joining the viewers of Australia to see where she takes it next,”
As for Ferguson, her career took off in 2008 at ABC and has continued to pave the way for informative and accurate Journalism in Australia.
To date, Sarah has spent 10 days in Ukraine to report on news and events taking place in the country.
