Mo Farah will be sharing some new details about his life in a new documentary coming to BBC. Thus far, the track runner shared that his current name is in fact not his real name.
In the opening scene of the documentary, Mo says, “The truth is, I’m not who you think I am,” Before sharing his story with the world.
To date, Mo Farah has become one of the most successful British track runners having earned four Olympic titles and 6 world titles. However, he ultimately achieved all this under a name that wasn’t his.
In the new documentary released by BBC soon, Mo Farah shared that he was illegally trafficked when he was nine years old. So far, the track runner revealed that he actually grew up in Somalia.
Before he was illegally taken away by an unknown woman, Mo Farah revealed that he was told to be going to a family relative. To exit his native land, Mo was given false identification which saw a false name next to his picture.
When he arrived in Britain, the details of his family had been torn up in front of him and this is when Mo Farah realized that he “was in trouble”.
From that moment onward, Mo Farah was taken into a home of another family to take care of their children and work as a domestic worker. Farah reveals that this is what he was threatened to do “if he wanted food in his mouth”.
For the first few years, Mo Farah shared that he did not attend school. Until later when he enrolled in a college. It was here that Mo was encouraged to pursue his athletic talents. And become the big star that he is today.

So far, things ultimately changed for Mo when he confided in his coach. Who took the liberty in providing him with another Somalian family. From then onwards, Mo describes things getting better for him.
According to ABC News, Farah obtained his British citizenship back in 2000 under his given name.
