Aussie actress Nicole Kidman was the toast of TV town on Sunday night while she also set more than a few tongues wagging at the 2017 Emmy Awards.
Kidman picked up the gong for Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role in Big Little Lies.
In accepting the award, a teary Kidman thanked her home and professional families.
“I have a huge artistic family who supported me throughout all my ups and downs,” she said from the podium. “You have been so loyal to me throughout my whole life thank you for that.”
“I have two little girls — Sunnie and Faith. And my darling Keith who I asked to help me pursue this artistic path. And they have sacrificed so much for it.
“So this is yours. I just want my two little girls to have this on their shelf and to look at it and go, ‘Every time my mumma didn’t put me to bed it’s because of this — (at least) I got something!’”
But it was her reaction to Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgard and his nod for Best Supporting Actor that appears to have gotten some fans all steamed up.
On his way to the stage to accept the award, Skarsgard stopped by his co-star with whom he shared some racy love scenes with and shared what appeared to be quite the affectionate, if quick, kiss on the lips, right in front of Kidman’s husband Keith Urban who applauded looking on.
