Queen Elizabeth has missed the recent Remembrance Sunday Service as a result of spraining her back. This will be the first time the service has returned to normal.
In an announcement to the public, officials stated “The Queen having sprained her back, has decided this morning with great regret that she will not be able to attend today’s Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph.”
The Queen is said to have been disappointed to miss the annual event, unfortunately her health did not allow for it.
Presently, the appearance at the Cenotaph would have been her first appearance in weeks, while the palace has previously stated that it was her “firm intention to attend”.
In recent days, the Queen has abandoned a few public appearances as a result of her health. However, her back sprain is unrelated to her doctor’s advice to rest.
On Sunday, other members of the royal family and politicians led the ceremony in London’s Whitehall. Following this, Prince Charles laid the first wreath on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.
As of next year, 2022, Queen Elizabeth will be celebrating 70 years on the throne. This will be Britains longest-lived and longest-reigning monarch.
