Juri Vips, 21, is currently under investigation after he used racial slurs on the Twitch platform. The racer reportedly live-streamed a game he was playing with a friend before things got out of hand.
Formula Two racer Juri Vips suspended
Thus far, Juri Vips is standing in seventh place in the Formula Two Grand Prix. To date, Vips was suspended by Red Ball after racial slurs were encountered during the live stream.
The organization has since spoken out to share details surrounding the incident that happened earlier this Wednesday afternoon.
“As an organization, we condemn abuse of any kind and have a zero-tolerance policy to racist language or behavior within our organization.”
According to the Washington Post, a friend of Juri Vips who was playing Call of Duty with the racer asked Vips to wear a pink cap. To which Vips replied, “no, thats gay”. Liam Lawson who was with him quickly told him “you can’t say that”.
Vips apologizes on Instagram following the offensive live
Before then Juri Vips used the n-word during the live stream which got a quick response from Lian Lawson. Following this, his fellow racer exclaimed “Juri!” after hearing what he said.
After his suspension, Juri shared an apology on Instagram stating that what he said does not embody the things he believes in and what he stands for.

The racer continued to say that he will fully cooperate with the investigation. So far, this will not be the first time an incident like this takes place on the Twitch platform.
This language is entirely unacceptable and does not portray the values and principles that I hold. I deeply regret my actions and this is not the example I wish to set.”
