Shania Twain surprised fans at Coachella with Harry Styles earlier this year. Now, the singer is giving an inside look into her life in Not just a Girl.
Thus far, Shania Twain has dealt with two illnesses simultaneously. In her new documentary, the singer shared that she frequently had blackouts on stage. Because of this, the singer feared that she would fall off the stage.
“I was having these very, very, very millisecond blackouts, but regularly, every minute or every 30 seconds.”
While the singer struggled with Lyme disease, she also had to deal with dysphonia which affected her voice. Following this, Shania Twain was unable to sing for a while as she lost her voice.
To date, the singer reflects that her voice has never been the same since then. The singer shared that she thought she lost her voice forever.
. I thought that was it, I would never, ever sing again.”
Following the impact on her voice, Shania Twain revealed that she had countless surgeries on her throat.
“I had to have an operation that was very intense and it’s an open-throat operation, very different from a vocal cord operation.”

Among some of the things, Shania Twain spoke about was her ex-husband’s public infidelity. The singer has been married to her then-husband for fifteen years before finding out that he cheated on her with her friend and assistant.
As shared by Insider, Shania needed to deal with this crisis as well as her divorce at the same time.
