London commuter Neil Francis was on his way home from gig in Kentish Town back in December when he decided to warm the cockles of some chilly winter passengers waiting for the next Tube.
Still on a high from the Erasure concert, he started singing their hit tune ‘A Little Respect’. And guess what, the crowd – no doubt generally feeling pretty merry after a great night out – decided to join in. And it sounds fantastic!
A presenter on London radio station LBC called it ‘One of the most joyous things to ever happen on the Tube’.
Here’s the 1988 original. We like Neil’s version better, though.
