HAVE you ever thought about the taste of summer? Fresh prawns on Christmas Day. A slightly seared sausage sandwich with tomato sauce. A Calippo, a Bubble O’Bill, or a Frosty Fruit? Or a fresh, ice-cold cider on a hot day.
When the sights and sounds of a Sydney summer now thousands of miles away, maybe taste is now one way we can replicate those happy memories of sun and surf.
This summer, Rekorderlig, the cider brand known for their fruity sweet drinks, are bringing the taste of summer to London’s Victoria Park with a Swedish inspired Midsummer House.
The pop-up Scandi-style summerhouse will be decorated with authentic Swedish homely touches and a relaxed outdoor area. The Midsummer bar will serve a range of ciders, including a new, limited edition Passionfruit flavour.
Mixologists will also serve unique cider cocktails, including the Rekorderlini, a luxurious blend of Rekorderlig Pear and Champagne, fused with fresh lemon juice and chocolate syrup.
The Midsummer House is expected to attract around 2500 visitors over two weeks, and will offer a spot of sunshine regardless of whether the English summer lives up to its promise. They’ve even got the BBQ sorted out — with native Scandinavian chefs The Disappearing Dining Club serving up Swedish style hot dogs.
Seek out a spot of summer at The Midsummer House from 21 June – 5 July at London’s Victoria Park. See rekorderlig.eventbrite.co.uk.
We’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to the opening night of The Midsummer House on 20 June. Entries close 19 June:
