Avian Flu, also known as influenza has been contracted in a case of bird to human transmission in the UK. This is one of the few bird Flu cases that has taken place in the UK ever.
While it is very rare for transmission to occur from person to person, the bird flu virus is very dangerous to contract. According to GOV.UK, the person infected had been in close contact with the birds for several days. The birds were within and outside the house.
It is advised that individuals do not touch sick or dead birds where infection can be prominent.

Transmission Of The Avian Flu
So, the transmission from birds to humans can only occur in close contact which is how the above case has started. But, what are the symptoms of the Avian Flu? Here’s what you need to look out for to avoid detrimental effects.
Symptoms of the Bird Flu
Sometimes the bird flu symptoms could include pneumonia but this will only occur very far long in the infection case. Now, symptoms can occur within five days and this is a crucial time as the Avian flu can worsen.
Other symptoms of the bird flu include feeling very feverish, aching muscles, headache as well as coughing or shortness of breath. So, as mentioned before noting the symptoms within three to five days will be the best time to treat the infection before it worsens. Treatment involves taking an antiretroviral for the Avian flu.
