Number 10 Downing Street will be welcoming a new resident; a newborn baby to Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his partner Carrie Symonds.
A spokesperson for the couple said on Wednesday morning (London time) that the couple were “thrilled” to announce the birth of a “healthy baby boy” at a London hospital.
“Both mother and baby are doing very well. The PM and Ms Symonds would like to thank the fantastic NHS maternity team,” the spokesperson said.
According to the BBC, it is understood Mr Johnson was present throughout the birth of the baby.
The British prime minister had only resumed work in public on Monday this week following his own stay in a London hospital after he became critically ill with COVID-19. Ms Symonds reportedly also suffered symptoms of the disease.
