Cleo Smith is alive and well after being found nearly two weeks after her disappearance from the campsite.
It is a wonderful day for Western Australia as Cleo is alive and well after being found in a Carnarvon house on Wednesday morning.
The police have recently gotten information that helped expedite the case, leading to Cleo’s whereabouts.
In earlier weeks we have seen Cleo’s parents plead for help in finding their little girl. The parents have been completely distraught since the disappearance of their daughter Cleo.
It has been of particular significance to the police that Cleo is safe and well as these kinds of cases generally do not have a happy ending.
At present, a 36-year-old man has been arrested in the kidnapping of Cleo but no charges have been made as of yet. The police have since relayed that the suspect is not a relative of the family.
The house in which Cleo was found was only 7 minutes away from the Smith home and 75km from where the family had been camping.
“The fact that that nightmare has come to an end and our worst fears were not realized is just a huge relief and a moment for great joy,”
Before officially returning home, the little bundle of joy was taken into the hospital to do check-ups. A picture has since been taken of the little girl holding a popsicle on the hospital bed.
During this time, the family is completely ecstatic to have their little girl back home again.
“Our family is whole again”.
Blaine said Wednesday morning was “the best moment” of his career. He described the moment Cleo was reunited with her family and said the four-year-old exclaimed “mum”.
At this time, the 1million dollar reward has been claimed and the police were not expecting this to be the case.
This reward is the largest reward given at this time. In addition, flowers and chocolates have been left at the police station.
