Kyle Rittenhouse faces charges of two counts of homicide, one attempted homicide and two of recklessly endangering safety for firing his weapon near others.
In late August, Rittenhouse went to Kenosha in response to a militia that called for the protection of businesses against protestors supporting the black lives matter movement.
Two deceased victims
Kyle, who was then only 17 years old, fired four shots within close range, killing Joseph Rosenbaum.
Moments later, Kyle then killed Anthony Huber, 26, who was seen on video footage hitting Rittenhouse with a skateboard. Rittenhouse also wounded another protestor Gaige Grosskreutz.
In the drone footage, Rosenbaum is seen following Rittenhouse before Kyle suddenly turned and fired his rifle. Rosenbaum is then seen to fall while Rittenhouse runs around a car.
Forensic pathologist Dr. Dough Kelley said that Rosenbaum was shot four times. One in the groin, hand, and thigh as he faced Rittenhouse. The last one in the back which Kelley confirms as “the killing shot”.
“Kyle Rittenhouse acted in self-defense”
According to Rittenhouse’s lawyers, Rittenhouse acted in self-defense, alluding to the fact he feared his rifle would be used against him.
In the courtroom, it was confirmed that during all the chaos surrounding the black lives matter movement, Rittenhouse is the only person who killed someone.
The trial still continues.
