US fast food giant McDonald’s has decided to trail run their new gourmet burgers in Sydney
Is it because Sydney locals know their burgers or is it the city’s emergence as a respected international opinion maker that made them so attractive to the Macca’s big wigs? Whatever it is, McDonald’s must trust the Sydney local’s taste buds and have decided to launch their first gourmet burger option in the NSW capital.
For now, the McDonald’s in Castle Hill is the only international outlet trialling the new concept in an attempt to keep up with consumer demands for quality fair. In the US, the trial is about to be expanded from California to Chicago.

Gone are the cardboard packaging and yellow-paper-wrapped offerings containing lack lustre clones of the picture on the menu. Customers will now enter their choices at an automated kiosk before taking their seat and waiting for their order to be brought to their table.
“I know it looks a bit big because I ordered everything to try it but it was really nice, and something different,” said one diner to the Daily Telegraph
McDonald’s Australia CEO Andrew Gregory said: “McDonald’s is innovating and changing again to meet the needs of our customers.
“What we’re really doing here is simply what our customers have asked us to do.”
Meanwhile, back in America, McDonald’s has launched a new campaign which has bravely invited the public to ask any question they want about the food-production process.
So confident are they that they’ll make the cut that McDonald’s invited Mythbusters’ Grant Imahara, to confirm their burgers are 100% beef.
And, for the first time ever a news crew from Good Morning America was also allowed access to its food plant in Fresno, California – we wonder if they also found Oompa Loompa’s operating behind those closed doors.
