Nelson Piquet, a former Formula 1 driver previously used racial slurs against Lewis Hamilton on a live tv show. Thus far, it seems the Brazilian media have failed to pick this up at the time.
On Tuesday night, Lewis Hamilton shared that racial slurs had been used against him back in November 2021. Right now, the F1 driver feels that action needs to be taken.
So far, this follows an incident of Juri Vips using racial slurs during an online game on Twitch. The junior racer has since been suspended pending an investigation into the current situation.
To date, Formula 1 condemns the use of any discriminatory language in the Sport. They have since come out in support of Lewis Hamilton during this time.
Right now, Nelson Piquet has not yet said anything about the racial slurs given this happened a few months ago. But, Lewis Hamilton expressed that it is time for action to be taken as there has been plenty of time for a change.
“It’s more than language. These archaic mindsets need to change and have no place in our sport. I’ve been surrounded by these attitudes and targeted my whole life. There has been plenty of time to learn. The time has come for action,”
According to News.com, Nelson Piquet commented on the race in which Verstappen and Hamilton were together. During the race, Hamilton sent Verstappen crashing into the barriers. The racer was then taken to the hospital for check-ups.

Following this, Nelson Piquet shared his thoughts on the matter while simultaneously using derogatory terms on Lewis Hamilton. The former racer’s daughter Kelly is currently dating Max Verstappen.
“The n****r put the car in the wrong way on the corner, it’s because you don’t know the curve. It’s a very high curve, there is no way to pass two cars and there’s no way you can put the car aside.
