During the Halloween season, criminal activity escalates as the opportunity for it is at its best. Dressing up in different Halloween costumes makes it difficult to identify the wrongdoers.
Presently, the suspect involved in the ax attack has yet to be identified.
The police confirmed that the attack took place just after 10 PM on Broadway, near Columbus Circle. It is understood that the attacker threatened to kill the 51-year-old-victim before injuring the left arm of the individual.

While murders and shootings continued to decline, the overall crime index increased by 11.2 percent compared to the same period last year.
The police urged anyone with information regarding the man in the grinning Halloween mask to come forward or tip them anonymously.
A few days before this incident took place, robbers in Halloween masks tried to invade a home posing as trick or treaters. In a video clip, the robbers are seen saying trick or treat before the owner opens the door to give them candy. The robbers are then seen trying to surpass the home owner.
Fortunately, the father of the eight-year-old in the home fought off the robbers who repeatedly punched him in the face.
Their neighbor later told the boy that his father is a super man fighting off two robbers.
These attacks become very prevalent during this time and criminals do not hesitate to jump at this opportunity.
