South Australia has recorded four new COVID cases while sources of the two infections have been confirmed.
Two of these infections were acquired interstate while one was acquired overseas and one locally.
A positive covid test was conducted for a woman who flew from Adelaide to Port Noarlunga but the test has now confirmed the test to be a false positive.
As a result of the positive test, this particular case caused the NT government to tighten border restrictions with South Australia.
Due to these new infections and the new Delta variant going around, the government hopes that restrictions could be eased right before Christmas.
To date, roughly eleven new exposure sites were announced including two flights and a Kensington Park Turkish restaurant. This is, however, not related to the Port Noarlunga case.
Among other things, South Australia’s first-dose vaccination rate for residents aged 12 and over has reached 90 percent over the weekend.
The police commissioner relayed that the forecast for the same population to be double-dosed could be between December 22 and January 3.
Quarantine restrictions for vaccinated international arrivals — along with most social distancing restrictions — are set to be dropped once 90 percent double-dosed is achieved, according to the COVID-Ready Plan released in October.
