Qantas to resume commercial flights to and from South Africa

By January 2022, Qantas will be resuming flights between South Africa and Sydney. Some good news for those who travel.

Presently, the airline would be absent from the South African airspace for almost two years.

While this may be excellent news to those who have family in South Africa, there are requirements to be met. This takes the form of travelers being fully vaccinated before boarding the plane.

Initially, Qantas was to resume these fights in July this year but have been pushed later due to restrictions. The last flight to South Africa took place in March 2020 right before Covid-19 hit its peak.

Since these flights will become available soon families as well as friends will be reunited again after what has been two years. Given the sales in international flights, one can see the need for this to be up and running again.

“In recent weeks, sales on international flights to and from Sydney have outstripped sales on domestic flights, which shows how important certainty is to people when making travel plans.”

Even though flights will be permitted on an international level, it is imperative that those who are 12 years old and over are fully vaccinated against the virus. Ignoring this will only hold you and the airline back.

Additionally, a negative Covid-19 test will need to be provided.
