Tamworth Country Music Festival postponed due to Covid-19 setbacks. This is the second time the event will be affected after being canceled last year. A shorter event is set to take place in April instead of the usual ten-day event.
New South Of Wales has seen infections rise to 100,000 cases within the time span of three days. The decision to postpone the festival was made in the best interest of the Country Music Industry as well as the community as a whole.
This is in light of the coming Omicron virus surge set to take place in the coming weeks. This might put immense stress on the health sector. But the surge is welcomed as many are either fully vaccinated or have already been infected with Covid-19.
The sooner the surge happens the better as Australians could see it lead to an endemic. This is news everyone could use and could encourage those to adhere to the new rules set in place which leaves me to the next point. As a result of this, the Tamworth Country Music Festival had to be canceled.
So, the new restrictions implemented include no dancing in clubs. This does not apply to performers though.
The latest reporting period recorded 38 thousand covid cases and 11 covid related deaths. This urged the Premier to introduce new restrictions such as no dancing or singing in clubs but does not include weddings or musicians performing.
Now, while the Tamworth Country Music Festival won’t operate in the same way it has in the past, fans are still promised a concert in April which is set to start from the 18th. Thus far, the concert has lost out on thousands of dollars that cannot be compensated for.
