IT’S not quite Madame Tussauds, but Ballarat’s Prime Ministers’ Avenue is just as weird.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott has been asked to pose for a sculpture to be included in a unique display in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens in Victoria.
“Council is awaiting confirmation from the prime minister’s office,” City of Ballarat chief executive Anthony Schinck told AAP.
The bronze sculpture of Abbott’s head will join the heads of past Australian Prime Ministers.
Former Prime Minister Julia Gillard is set to unveil a sculpture of her head created by Peter Nicholson.
Ms Gillard took part in a number of sittings with the artist early last year, before her “head” was cut off by the Labor party.
