Michael Martin has been reunited with his lost phone, but only after some typically Aussie hijinks from its finders.
Recently new dad Michael freaked out when his phone went missing, not just because it had all his contacts, but because it also had the only video of the birth of his child.
Luckily for him two happy Burleigh Heads men, Trent Kaiser and Paul Ahern, found it. They celebrated their discovery with a few beers, courtesy of Michael’s bank cards which they had also found and took a video of themselves for Michael to find on his returned phone.
“G’day Michael!” one of the guys says gleefully into the phone’s camera.
“Michael ya sicko. What’s goin’ on, bro?” the other says with a smile, brandishing his beer.
“We tried calling you, but then we realised we’ve got your phone,” the first bloke confesses.

According to the Gold Coast Bulletin, which first reported the tale, the fellas eventually managed to get in touch with one of Michael’s mates via the phone and had it and the cards returned to its owner.
Soon after, the ever thankful Michael wanted to meet his phone’s saviours and so put out a video himself on Facebook in a quest to find them. The video went viral and contact was made.
The three blokes finally met up on Friday and are now great mates.
“It’s good to know there’s still decent blokes out there who return things to their rightful owners,” Michael told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
