Sydney and the Hunter and Central Coast regions are experiencing the most severe weather in years. Gale force winds, described as “cyclonic” of up to 135kph and torrential rain have brought death and destruction across a wide area of NSW.
But it seems that umbrellas are taking the most strain. Brave brollies fought heroically against the storm but were beaten, ravaged and tossed aside all over the state.

Those who abandoned their umbrellas posted cheeky pictures on social media of their busted brollies with the hashtag #umbrellageddon.
