Serie A has forced Inter Milan to show up for their match despite the Bologna team being in isolation. The league will now introduce new protocols following Bologna’s forced to forfeit against Inter Milan.
At this time, Serie A rules stipulate that if a team fails to show up the other team will be awarded a 3-0 victory. While this may be so, the team is able to appeal this decision.
During this time, Bologna team members have been impacted by some members being infected with the virus. As a result, team members are currently in quarantine. Regardless of this news, Serie A has refused to cancel any matches.
Serie A required Teams To Show Up Despite the Absence of Other Teams
The team is currently facing quarantine for at least 10- 15 days. Bologna was thus unable to play their match against Inter Milan on Thursday. Inter Milan trained as per normal.

According to abc.net, Juventus faced a similar situation in where they were awarded a 3-0 against Napoli. That is before Napoli successfully appealed the situation.
“Bologna were ready to play and they suffered the situation from ASL which have taken this decision to protect everyone’s health, but clarity is missing. I would limit the ASL’s power, otherwise, we’ll always face similar situations in the future.”
